Insight Loop
What happens in an Insight Loop
An Insight Loop is a 60-minute online session where small groups think through one question together. After each round we show them what they said. By the end, the room has checked and corrected our summary of its own thinking.
How the hour runs
Three rounds of conversation, with our summary played back in between.
Groups talk
Small groups take the question. Groups stay the same all hour.
Each group's panel
Every group sees what it said, plus one question from another group.
Correct and go further
Groups fix what's off in their panel, then build on it.
The big picture
Themes from across the room and possible takeaways, shown as a draft.
Change the draft
Groups test the big picture and change what doesn't hold.
The Discussion Record
Two pages: what the room argued, and what it changed.
What makes it different
The room gets to correct our summary before anyone else sees it.
The same groups all hour
Each group reads and corrects its own words, not a summary of someone else's conversation.
We use what people actually said
Every point we play back comes from something someone actually said. Quotes are credited to the group, never to a name.
Thinking crosses between groups
Each group gets one question carried over from another group's conversation, so ideas meet ideas they'd otherwise miss.
A record that shows what changed
The Discussion Record sets out what the room argued, and what it changed in our summary. It reaches everyone within 2 hours.
